WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?
Do you want to be completely healthy? The answer should be a resounding YES!!! yet many people are content although they lack the skills God requires of every individual.
WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?
John 5:6 He saith unto him, wilt thou be made whole?
One of the main components of the healing process is the desire to be healed. This desire must be real and it must be strong.
Wait
For 38 years, the Lame Man waited for healing, having no one to assist him John 5:1-7. Those who were quick and alert were healed (John 5:3 4 7 Matthew 25:1-5). Some people are always in a state of waiting rather than taking action (Acts 22:16). If you do nothing, chances are nothing will happen. Jesus taught us how to wait (Matthew 24:43-51).
Want
In addition to being alert, one must have a great desire to be healed. Jesus asked, wilt thou be made whole because not everyone wants to change (John 5:6). Like the Rich Young Ruler, some are not willing to make the necessary sacrifices to achieve their goals (Matthew 19:16-22). Paul, however, was willing to go the extra mile (Romans 10:1 15:23 2 Corinthians 11:23-28).
Whole
Our goal in life ought to be physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual wholeness (John 5:6 Luke 2:52 1 Thessalonians 5:23). Jesus is concerned about our health, hence he came to offer abundant life (3 John 1:2 John 10:10 Luke 4:18). He also tells us how this abundant life can be achieved (2 Peter 1:5-9).
Walk
Jesus told the Lame Man to walk and without hesitation, he did (John 5:8). Once we are healed, we cannot live as though we are not delivered (Ephesians 5:8). If you were constantly hiding from men, now you can shine (Matthew 5:16). If you have not been praising God, now you can give God the glory for the great things he has done (Acts 3:8). We were healed to heal, comforted to comfort, and saved to save (2 Corinthians 1:3 4). Do you really want to be healed?
