Generosity is showing a readiness to give more of something, such as money or time than is strictly necessary or expected. It is one of the attributes of God.

Ephesians 3:20                 God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask

Life would be much more meaningful if we trusted the One who has the whole world in His hands. Take a few minutes to read about The Generosity of God.

God

Firstly, it is important to accept the reality of the existence of God (Hebrews 11:6 Psalms 14:1 19:1). Many individuals who say that they don’t believe in God have not carefully analyzed the arguments presented. Along with the Bible, nature provides evidence of a rich and kind Creator (Psalms 24:1 Philippians 4:19 Acts 14:17). This is a rare combination (Matthew 19:21-22 1 Samuels 25:10-12).

Great

Not only is there evidence of the riches and kindness of God, but His power is also evident (Romans 1:19-20 1 Corinthians 3:6 Psalms 33:6-9). God is able to deliver (Daniel 3:17), raise up children (Matthew 3:9), make us stand (Romans 14:4), make grace abound (2 Corinthians 9:8), save to the uttermost (Hebrews 7:25), and do exceeding above what we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Nothing is impossible with God (Matthew 19:26 Revelations 19:6). Yet we doubt (Matthew 11:3).

Guarantee

People of faith have the assurance that God will respond to our prayers (Ephesians 3:20). However, we should not expect a favorable answer at all times. Every good parent will say yes (James 5:16), no (2 Corinthians 12:7-9), if (2 Chronicles 7:14), or wait (Galatians 6:9). A good parent will at times present conditions for which the response will be yes (Mark 11:24).

Generous

God blesses abundantly (Ephesians 3:20 Luke 6:38). David’s cup runneth over (Psalms 23:5). Solomon got more than he asked (1 Kings 3:9-13). The 5000 had twelve baskets of leftovers (Matthew 14:17-20). The Prodigal Son got an undeserved party (Luke 15:18-25). Since God is so generous, should we not be the same in our giving? (2 Corinthians 8:3-5 9:6 Philemon 1:21 Matthew 5:39-41).
